Lovania wins ‘Most Innovative Exhibit’ at Four Oaks 2011.

We were delighted to pick up yet another award for our impressive stand at this year’s Four Oaks show.  The team worked really hard to build a creative display and kept the theme very much focused on product and quality.  Well done to everyone involved! 

Southport Flower Show

We were pleased to supply alpines to Rob Showering for use in his impressive rockery display.  His stand won a Gold Award at this year’s Southport Flower Show.  We also supplied various planted containers and baskets for use in and around the show ground which looked fantastic!

Lovania wins Best Plant Display at HTA National Plant Show 22/08/2011

We were absolutely delighted to receive the award for best stand at the HTA National Plant Show which took place at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry at the end June 2011.

Our stand won the award for its innovative planting displays and attention to detail, providing everything the retailer needs to know in a striking and imaginative way. The judges especially commented on ‘the different planting formats shown, which would be simple to transfer to a garden retail environment’.

To win this award was an extremely proud moment for Lovania.  All credit goes to the Alpine team who came up with the idea themselves and helped put the stand together. The only challenge now is coming up with an equally good design for next year!

New point of sale material rolling out across garden centres in 2011 15/03/2011

We are pleased to showcase our new range of Alpine and Spring Bulb point of sale for 2011. We are currently installing the Alpine point of sale into Garden Centres nationwide. The display was designed in house by our Alpine team and is already receiving excellent acclaim from our customers! When we designed the new POS we wanted to show how versatile Alpines can be.

Through market research we found the majority of customers perceive an Alpine to be a ‘Rockery Plant’ but this isn’t even scratching the surface of what they can be used for! So, it was important for us to communicate the various different usages to customers as a visual and also as text. Our aim is for this to give the customer inspiration as to how they can use Alpines in their own gardens. Our new POS is available to all of our customers please contact one of our sales managers for more information.

Lovania Staff Conference 07/03/2011

We held our first Lovania Staff Conference on Friday 21st January 2011. The event included presentations on company performance, future targets and the history of the company featuring a DVD showing footage from the early 80’s when the nursery was being built.

Our Garden Centre Sales Managers presented on how the Garden Centre market was performing and what would be new for 2011 which was exciting to hear. We finished off the conference with an awards ceremony where staff received prizes for awards such as Employee of the Year, Most Improved, Team Player and others.

The event was a huge success and well received by all our staff, as a result we will be holding this on an annual basis. Congratulations to all our award winners!

Success with our BOPP Accreditation 28/02/2011

Bopp enables us to trace our plants from point of germination through to dispatch giving us full control throughout the supply chain. We are audited twice a year under both Grower Standards; Continual Development and UKAS Certification alternating at six-monthly intervals. Our last inspection was held in January 2011, we achieved a score 93.67% and received zero non-conformances. 

A LEAN Lovania 25/02/2011

The Production team recently went through the LEAN Process. This included representatives from purchasing, quality control, transplanting, growing and dispatch.  Each and every step throughout our supply chain was looked at then the team identified distractions and problems.  From this, an action plan was  formed to overcome these obstacles.  This was implemented with great success. Not only are we improving efficiencies through the business but the team are enthused and motivated by the results and working hard to ensure they are maintained!

The new season point of sale is now being installed in garden centres nationwide.  The display was designed by the Lovania Alpines team and is already receiving excellent acclaim from our customers!

We are providing customers  with large eye catching correx boards for both 9cm and 1lt Alpines, and to further enhance the sale area we have also produced bench running strips. This is provided free of charge, contact one of our sales managers for more information.

Training Success! - 08/02/10

Congratulations to Jose Nobrega and Andy McMillan for successfully completing the PA1 and PA6 spraying courses.  Jose will now be involved with spraying bedding and Andy will assist with the Alpines.
