UCLAN architecture students glowing design skills
As part of a collaborative project with design students at the University of Central Lancashire, we now have a stunning design for some new staff facilities here in Preston. The Architecture faculty joined us last week to go through our brief, to view the proposed to site and discuss design elements. The students were then primed to produce their design submissions in the shortest of time periods – less than a week.
The winning design was selected and will now form the basis of construction plans to bring the new facilities to life in 2017. The staff centre will provide both a meeting place and a communal area for mealtimes and social interaction. Its design has communication and community at its core – providing a comfortable, informal space where personnel from all departments can mix, share ideas and catch up with inter-departmental activity at breaktimes.
Winning designer Yousif Saeed and his team have shared their concept and 3D flythrough below. We are eager to see it taking shape on site here at Lovania HQ and will update with progress during the build process. Congratulations – and an exciting prospect for us and the world of architecture!
