Lovania is one of the UK’s leading growers of plants and bulbs, supplying over 30 million plants annually to garden centres, retailers, and horticultural businesses across the country. But beyond the numbers, we are a family-founded business built on care, consistency, and a deep-rooted love for horticulture.
Founded in 1980 by Len, Keith, and Celanie Ball, the name “Lovania” carries personal significance — taken from the last ship Len served on during the Second World War. HMS Lovania survived conflict in the Mediterranean, and the name was chosen to represent resilience, reliability, and a steady course — qualities that continue to shape our business today.
From those early days, Lovania has grown from a local nursery into a national supplier, operating across more than 42 acres of production space and delivering to over 1,200 customers every year. Our growth has been driven by continual investment — in our people, our facilities, and our systems — to ensure that every plant we supply meets the high expectations of today’s horticultural and retail market.
